Monday Mischief - Checked Out

We were worried for no reason about the hotel this past weekend. We enjoyed our stay. We were even pleasantly surprised with a refrigerator to keep Rugby's food fresh. That is always much easier than constantly refilling an ice bucket. Looking back, the color scheme of the room probably had some influence on the new look of the blog. I am glad I didn't go with that minty green though.

Rugby woke me up frequently while we were there to growl at any and every noise the other hotel guests made. While I appreciate his desire to be my own personal watch dog, I do not appreciate the loss of sleep it caused me. It is that same mouth of his that cost him three points in the Obedience ring too! Now that we are back home, Rugby can really relax at night (and let me sleep!).

  3. Thanks for joining our blog hop! Its a hard life being a dog - there is so much you need to check out and bark at! I bet Rugby slept soundly all day afterwards though :-)

  4. The same thing happens to us when we stay in hotels with the 2 brown dawgs. The first night is usually worse than the second. If we can get to the hotel in the afternoon, say on Friday for a Saturday test, we found it helps a bit, (just a bit...lol).

  5. Our girls aren't thrilled with the noises at hotels, either, but they're generally good about it. Sorry Rugby kept you awake!

  6. Cabot tends to bark in hotels when left there alone in his crate (so I can go get dinner or something). When I'm in the room with him, he is much quieter.

I shudder to think about the two of them sharing a room!

  7. Thanks so much for joining in the hop today Rugby! It is so nice to meet you!!
My dogs do the same thing when we stay in a hotel! They are so alert as to every sound that happens on the other side of the door!

  9. What a beautiful dog AND a beautiful picture! The hotel should use that in its advertising. :)

I'm sure Daisy will behave the same way when we travel with her. She turns on her "inner watchdog" at every little sound!

  10. Like most tiny dogs Rugby thinks he is a fearsome watchdog striking terror in the hearts of all.

  11. Hi Y'all,

Sounds like Rugby is just tryin' to protect y'all. My Human said at least Rugby held his warning to growls and not loud threatening barks which I tend to use.

    Y'all come by now,
    Hawk aka BrownDog
